The ∇ symbol (called the Del Operator) is used in vector calculus. It’s difficult to understand ∇ out of context. However, it can generally be said that ∇ describes the steepest path ascending to the peak of dynamic or curved plains.

Importantly, ∇ is often used in the analysis of vortexes.
